ENTROPY
Entropy Media is a new podcast studio focused on limited series, docustyle podcasts. In my role as executive producer, I reported directly into the CEO, and oversaw day-to-day production for five narrative nonfiction podcasts. Each involved staffing talent, managing that talent, reviewing archival and interviews, working with each team to develop series' narrative arcs, provide script edits, creative direction, and initial market positioning/launch strategies. Two of the five podcasts are currently live, with the rest to be published later in the year.
The first season of Entropy's flagship show, Underbelly, was released in April 2023. "Brokers, Bagmen, & Moles"—a 12-part series telling the story and unearthing new truths about one of the most expensive undercover FBI operations in history, where agents posed as traders on the floor of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange in the '80s, hoping to sniff out brokers who were skimming off the top. It garnered 5-star reviews and nearly a million downloads.
Underbelly's second season, "The Rebel Kind," debuted in March 2024. This ten-part production tells the fascinating, seemingly unreal but true story of a 6-foot-7 trucker from Upstate New York who sort of accidentally became one of the most successful spies in history. Through dating a woman he met down in Florida, he befriended several members of the Irish Republican Army, and one day the FBI asks him to spy on them. Turns out the pay was good, so he does. Years later, he ends up taking down the most militant of the organization's remaining leaders. You'll have to listen to connect all those dots.
